Day 2, and my legs are as itchy as they ever have been...

No problems with deer flies last night - I didn't get out to the tent until dusk! I did suffer a little bit from black flies, but mostly after I brought 20 or so of them into the tent with me.

On the plus side, there's nothing quite like swimming in a river which is flat as glass at dawn...

After school yesterday I went back to my campsite from March (check out www.survivorschwindt.blogspot.com for background) and it's not nearly as scary as I thought - I expected to find out that I had been camping in the middle of a bush on the side of a hill, but as it turns out, it's actually quite nice! In fact, I'm thinking I may keep it as a back up in case I tire of canoe commuting...


Tonight's a night of relative luxury, staying with friends in order to be well-rested and on time for my graduation tomorrow; after that I'm off to camp somewhere else for the weekend...
